If you are on a disease modifying agent for MS, you qualify as a patient who is moderately to severely immunocompromised based on the use of these immunomodulatory medications. We agree with the CDC recommendation for a third dose of the mRNA vaccines (Pfizer for 12 years and older, and Moderna for 18 years and older) for patients who are “moderately to severely” immunocompromised. We want to share the latest vaccine information we have with you. Hoffman is passionate about clinically oriented interventional radiology services and seeks to provide a comprehensive procedural service that includes fluoroscopic, CT, and US-guided interventions.Many of our patients living with chronic conditions, including MS, have ongoing questions regarding the COVID-19 vaccine. Additional interests include cirrhosis and portal hypertension, cancer care through interventional oncology, management of atherosclerosis and arterial blockages in the legs and many others. His specific clinical interests include venous recanalization of chronic venous occlusions, management of all related venous disorders including reflux, pelvic venous congestion, and varicose veins. He focuses on performing procedures that allow quick recovery, very little downtime, and great outcomes. His treatment philosophy includes minimally invasive procedural management of numerous disease processes including vascular, oncology, gastrointestinal, reproductive systems and more. Hoffman has lectured at multiple national meetings and participated in research projects with multiple publications. He is a member of the American College of Radiology and the Society of Interventional Radiology where he currently serves on the economics committee. Hoffman is board certified by the American Board of Radiology and an APCA registered physician in vascular interpretation (RPVI). ![]() He has previously worked in private practice in Rock Hill. He currently serves as the medical director of the vascular and interventional radiology department at MUSC Lancaster Medical Center. Hoffman is originally from Rock Hill, SC and after medical training, he returned to South Carolina to practice diagnostic and interventional radiology. He completed his diagnostic radiology residency at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC and a vascular and interventional radiology fellowship at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA.ĭr. in Biology from Clemson University and subsequently a medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC.
